Liquid Impact in conjunction with IMG were tasked with the production and execution of the Interactive Village for the HSBC World Golf Competition at Sheshan Golf Course for the second year running. Multiple activations were planned and built for the 5-day event, including the main show piece of the Village – the 10m x 10m Putting Pyramid. All the activations were incredibly popular with thousands of visitors entering the village, queuing to try out the many activations over the course of the week. Fan favourites included digital activations such as the Hole in One photo op, which was widely shared on social media (WeChat, Weibo), the Golf Ball grab game for younger audiences – which also attracted a suprising number of adults participants!, as well as the competitive Beat The Pro’s area, which pitted fans vs Professionals in hitting golf balls at range targets to win a daily prize. The Putting Pyramid was definitely the overall fan winner though, with tens of thousands of visitors vying to try put their golf balls into winning hole to win promotional gifts. Tight deadlines and short work times, together with multiple vendors working in a tight space made for a potentially difficult build, but our years of professional experience made for a well planned and executed project that impressed the client.
