Leveraging their partnership with NBA, Marriott Rewards hosts an interactive basketball activation worldwide for their brand. Shanghai was Marriott Rewards chosen city in China. The activation engaged local fans around the popular NBA Global Games. Fans were encouraged to partake in a basketball game (Around the World in 24 Seconds) to win giveaways and Marriott Rewards points.
They were also greeted with a surprise appearance by two NBA Legends, Shane Batier and Gary Parton.
Liquid Impact was entrusted by our client IMG, as local support for the event. Our responsibilities included sourcing appropriate venues, event licensing, production and onsite staff management. After comparison we chose the downtown Raffles City Plaza as the ideal venue, opening on the first day after Chinese National holidays, successfully attracting a large number of people taking part in the activation, and joining the Marriott Rewards membership plan.
